ASTM standard (American Society for Testing and Materials):
ASTM A240/A240M: Standard for chromium and chromium-nickel
stainless steel plates, sheets and strips for pressure vessels and
general applications. It specifies the chemical composition,
mechanical properties, dimensional tolerances, surface quality and
other requirements of various stainless steels such as 304 and 316,
and is a widely used stainless steel plate standard.
ASTM A895: Standard for free-cutting stainless steel plates, sheets
and strips, which specifies free-cutting properties and related
chemical composition, mechanical properties, etc.
EN standard (European standard):
EN 10088-2: Stainless steel - Technical delivery conditions for
general purpose corrosion-resistant steel sheets/plates and strips.
It covers the requirements for the chemical composition, mechanical
properties, dimensional tolerances, surface quality and other
aspects of stainless steel plates, and is suitable for a variety of
stainless steel products in the European market.
EN 10307: Non-destructive testing - Ultrasonic testing of
austenitic and austenitic ferritic stainless steel plates with a
thickness of 6 mm or more (reflection flaw detection method),
specifies the methods, equipment, acceptance criteria, etc. for
ultrasonic testing of such stainless steel plates.
DIN standard (German Institute for Standardization): For example,
DIN 17440 specifies the technical delivery conditions for stainless
steel plates, hot-rolled strips and bars for pressure, drawn wire
and forgings, including chemical composition, mechanical
properties, dimensions, surface quality, etc.
JIS standard (Japan Industrial Standards Research Institute):
JIS G4304: Hot-rolled stainless steel plates, sheets and strips
standard, which specifies the technical indicators of hot-rolled
stainless steel products.
JIS G4305: Cold-rolled stainless steel plates, sheets and strips
standard, which specifies the relevant requirements for cold-rolled
stainless steel plates, sheets and strips.
