Surface characteristics
The surface of hot-rolled 304 stainless steel plate is relatively
rough, and the color is usually off-white, not as smooth and glossy
as cold-rolled plate. This is because a layer of oxide scale will
form on the surface of the steel plate during the hot rolling
process, and the rolling pressure and temperature will also have a
certain impact on the surface.
There are two main surface treatment methods. One is the NO.1
surface after hot rolling, annealing and dephosphorization
treatment, which is silvery white and rough and dull; the other is
the 1D surface after hot rolling, heat treatment, pickling, no
oxide scale, this surface treatment method can increase the
corrosion resistance of steel.
Specifications and dimensions
In terms of thickness, the thickness of hot-rolled 304 stainless
steel plates usually ranges from 3.0 mm to 200 mm.
The width is generally above 1000 mm, and the common ones are 1500
mm, 1800 mm, 2000 mm, etc.
The length can be customized according to needs, generally around
6000 mm.
